From May 21st to 23rd, the Asian Small Animal Oncology Conference - Member Seminar was held in Xiamen during the 17th Eastern and Western Small Animal Clinical Veterinarians Conference. With the theme of "Integrating Traditional Chinese Wisdom to Build a New Future for Tumor Diagnosis and Treatment", this conference attracted approximately 150 participants from all over the country.
Zhu Liangliang, the secretary-general of the Asian Small Animal Oncology Conference, delivered the opening remarks. He first extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to all the experts, scholars, and colleagues in the field of small animal oncology research who were present. Secretary-General Zhu emphasized that the Asian Small Animal Oncology Conference, as an important exchange platform in this field, aims to gather the wisdom of all parties and jointly promote the development of small animal oncology research. The conference is divided into three themes: the foundation and emerging technologies of tumor diagnosis and treatment, comprehensive tumor treatment and decision-making challenges, and advanced innovation and future prospects in tumor specialties.
On the topic of the cornerstone of cancer diagnosis and treatment and emerging technologies, Dr. Dong Jun of China Agricultural University shared "Application of Cancer Chemotherapy", which deeply discussed the application status and prospects of chemotherapy in the treatment of small animal tumors, emphasized the importance of chemotherapy as the cornerstone of tumor treatment, and shared a series of cutting-edge chemotherapy programs and technical progress.
Du Hongchao, an expert in medical oncology of Xinruipeng Pet Medical Group, brought "Case Sharing - Canine Multicenter Lymphoma", which analyzed the diagnosis and treatment process of canine polycentric lymphoma through specific cases, elaborated on the diagnosis methods, treatment strategies and prognosis management of lymphoma, and provided valuable clinical experience and treatment ideas for the participants.
Tlshida DVM, President of the Japanese Society of Feline Medicine (JSFM), Takuo Ishida, shared "Rapid In-hospital Diagnosis of Cat and Canine Tumors by Cytology", in which he introduced the application of cytology in the rapid in-hospital diagnosis of cat and dog tumors, emphasized the important role of cytology in preliminary diagnosis and tumor type identification, and shared some practical cytology diagnostic skills and experiences, which broadened the diagnostic ideas and improved the diagnostic efficiency for the participants.
In the theme sharing session of comprehensive cancer treatment and decision-making challenges, Li Jizhong, associate professor of the College of Veterinary Medicine of National Taiwan University and academician of the Asian Veterinary Medical Association, shared "Paraneoplastic Syndrome", which deeply analyzed the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and diagnostic methods of paraneoplastic syndromes, and discussed the impact of the syndrome on the treatment decisions of small animal tumors, emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in comprehensive treatment, and provided participants with new perspectives and directions.
Cheng Song, head of the Guangzhou Laboratory of Zhongnong Dongjun, brought "Case Sharing - How to Write Pet Clinical Cases into Publishable Articles", through the analysis of specific cases, explained in detail how to transform pet clinical cases into publishable research articles, including case selection, data collection, analysis methods and writing skills, etc., providing practical scientific research writing guidance for participants and helping to improve the scientific research level in the field of small animal tumors.
Professor Yan Ki-dong of Veterinary Imaging at Konkuk University in South Korea shared "Imaging Diagnosis of Thoracic Tumors", which introduced in detail the imaging diagnosis methods and technologies of thoracic tumors, as well as how to carry out the preliminary diagnosis and differential diagnosis of tumors through imaging features, providing participants with rich experience and skills in imaging diagnosis, which will help improve the accuracy and efficiency of small animal tumor diagnosis.
She Yuanwu, chief veterinarian of Best Animal Hospital, brought "Case Sharing - Common and Confusing Feline Mastocytoma", which deeply discussed the difficulties and confusions in the diagnosis and treatment of feline mastocytoma through specific cases, analyzed the biological characteristics, clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods and treatment strategies of the tumor in detail, and shared some unique diagnosis and treatment experience and insights, which solved the problems encountered in clinical practice for the participants and provided a clearer and more effective diagnosis and treatment path.
Li Meng, associate professor of Nanjing Agricultural University, shared "Diagnostic Challenges and Treatment Thoughts of Feline Tumor Diseases", in which she elaborated on the difficulties in the diagnosis of feline tumor diseases, including the complexity of the disease, the diversity of symptoms and the limitations of diagnostic technology, and at the same time put forward targeted treatment strategies and thinking, emphasizing the importance of personalized treatment in feline tumor diseases, and providing valuable treatment experience and ideas for the participants.
In the sharing session on the theme of advanced innovation and future outlook of oncology, Yun-JiLim, President of Korea VIP Pet Medical Center/Companion Animal Cancer Center, shared "Precautions for Oncology Surgery" and "Medical Oncology Precautions", which introduced in detail the key matters that need to be paid attention to in oncology surgery and internal medicine treatment, emphasized the importance of precision surgery and multidisciplinary collaboration, especially in the management of complex tumor cases, and provided practical clinical guidance and suggestions for participants.
Li Baowen, the leader of the oncology discipline in Henan Province and the leader of the Henan Ruipai Oncology Group, brought "Case Sharing-Feline Thymoma Case Discussion", which deeply analyzed the clinical manifestations, diagnosis process and treatment plan of feline thymoma. By elaborating the background of the case, the initial symptoms, disease progression and imaging results of the affected cat were shown. It not only introduced the traditional surgical treatment methods, but also discussed the application of comprehensive treatment methods such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy, providing comprehensive treatment ideas for the participants.
